Comments; According to the Internet Movie Database the music is by Gunnar Johansson & Jules Sylvain. They are either partly or completely wrong in this. Lyne 1977, Grove 1980 as well as Åhlén 1992 list it as a Rosenberg piece. Ooops, the "Svensk filmografi" volume 4 (1940-1949), issued 1980 by Svenska Filminstitutet, doesn't either mention Rosenberg in their thorough presentation of the film. They list music by Jules Sylvain, Beethoven, Strauss Jr and Louis Clausen, all arranged by Gunnar Johansson.
Lyne 1977 calls it "Industrifilm - stål" (Industrial film - steel).

Comments; This piece of music doesn't exist! It was planned as radio theatre by Brecht (then a refugee in Stockholm) and Rosenberg "one of the first war years", but the commission from the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation didn't materialise. They bought the play though!

Comments; This version was initiated by Henrik Jansson, who wanted to perform the symphony in churches, with just choir and organ. Sometimes the recitatives have been sung, other times spoken. Jansson performed this version from 1948 to 1979 in Sala, Malmö, Gothenburg and on tours.
